RCL sponsors the European Hotel Design Awards

RCL is proud to announce its sponsorship of the European Hotel Design Awards, to be held later this month as part of The Sleep Event Europe. The awards are a celebration of design, architecture and development excellence from across Europe.

This year’s ceremony is to be held in the recently opened Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel, and RCL will be providing pinspotting for the event where 158 of their DR7 luminaires are installed.

In addition to their sponsorship, RCL feature in four projects up for awards on the night. The Four Seasons London at Park Lane opened at the beginning of the year after a refurbishment programme, which saw RCL spotlights fitted in a number of locations. The Savoy, too, saw RCL fixtures installed in the hotel’s lobby and Abraham Lincoln room as part of their much-publicised £220 million refit.

Another high profile restoration project to include RCL’s patented ‘Select & Direct’ technology was the Corinthia Hotel, which opened in April. Originally built as the Metropole Hotel, the 19th century landmark was used during both world wars by the government. Now beautifully restored, the hotel features a magnificent ballroom fitted with 65 of their DR7 pinspots.

The final project to involve RCL products is the Coworth Park Hotel. The 18th century Manor house is set in 240 acres of Berkshire parkland and contains 70 guest rooms. Renovation of the building began back in 2008 with the property being painstakingly restored to its former glory. Opened in April, the hotel features 42 DR7 luminaires.
