Technology meets EuP standards for directional lamps

Megaman’s new technology fulfils EuP requirements by providing a higher luminous intensity.

PowerLens is being offered as part of Megaman’s reflector range, and has an elevated luminous intensity and narrower beam angle to provide a more focused light cone. This allows energy savings of up to 78 per cent, making them effective eco-replacements for traditional halogen and incandescent lamps.

The technology is available in a range of Megaman’s lamps including GU10, E27 and E14 reflectors, and is particularly suited to applications where an intense light is required, such as shops, restaurants, museums and galleries.

EuP directives state that a directional lamp must deliver at least 80 per cent of light output within the cone with an angle less than 120 degrees. Megaman’s GU10 11W reflector, when powered with PowerLens, increases luminous intensity by 13.6 per cent with the beam angle reduced from 119 degrees to 90 degrees.
