Philips and Cooper Industries enter licence agreement

Philips has entered into a patent licence agreement with Cooper Industries giving them full access to the Philips’ LED-related patented technologies.

The agreement will operate through the Philips LED Luminaire and Retrofit Bulb licensing program.

Philips also holds license agreements with more than 100 other companies including Acuity Brands, Osram and Zumtobel.

“We are very pleased that Cooper has joined our licensing program. We believe having such an open and accessible license program is greatly assisting in accelerating the adoption of LED lighting and fostering the growth of the LED industry,” said Arian Duijvestijn, general manager lighting at Philips Intellectual Property and Standards.
