Recolight and Community Bulb Recycling Alliance join forces

Compliance specialist Recolight has joined forces with the Community Bulb Recycling Alliance (CoBRA) in a bid to increase recycling rates for low-energy light bulbs.

The move aims to recruit volunteer ‘recycling champions’ across the country to collect used bulbs from their communities and features a short animation to demonstrate how easy it is to take part.

“Nine out of 10 people have at least one low-energy light bulb in their home, so each volunteer is making a difference to the environment by helping to collect their community’s old low-energy bulbs,” says chief executive of Recolight Nigel Harvey. The film has been developed to show the public just how easy it is to become a volunteer – one hour a month is all that is needed.”

  • This is a good move forward

However, it is nowhere near as good as recycling light bulbs at IKEA

You receive a reward for recycling , how cool is that!

IKEA have taken another significant step towards a more sustainable environment with the first light bulb recycling reverse vending machine in the world at IKEA Lakeside!

    * Step 1: Place the light bulb into the reverse vending machine one at a time.

    * Step 2: The machine will give you a voucher.

    * Step 3: Take this voucher to the IKEA Lakeside’s restaurant for a FREE cup of tea or coffee.

We all now search our houses for old used light bulbs
