Redwood Systems launches into Europe
Redwood Systems, a US provider of building-performance lighting solutions, has announced its European launch.
The company has received European certification for its products and will open its local headquarters in London.
VP of global markets Brent Boekestein will be responsible for the London office and developing the company’s presence in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. There are also plans to develop the company in other regions.
“Europe, and the UK in particular, has proven its commitment to improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions in large public and private sector organisations,” said Dave Leonard, CEO of Redwood Systems.
“Given Redwood’s proven ability to make a marked impact in these areas, we see our expansion into Europe as a way to help more businesses save money and meet government energy mandates.”
Using patented technology, Redwood Systems delivers efficient low-voltage DC power and control to LED light fixtures over a simplified cabling infrastructure. The company serves a wide range of clients, including offices, data centres and educational institutions.
Redwood Systems has recently signed an agreement with EDF, France’s largest utility company. EDF trialled Redwood Systems’ technology in its innovation lab and has decided to use the technology across facilities in its service area. Other clients include Facebook, Volkswagen, and Google.
To facilitate its launch into the European market, Redwood Systems has extended pre-existing agreements with low-voltage communication component providers Anixter and CommScope.
