Rob Deering to host 2012 LDAs
Top comedian Rob Deering will set the tone at this year’s Lighting Design Awards, taking place on 21 March at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
The award-winning-comedian/guitar-player has cemented his reputation as one of Britain’s finest stand-ups, taking six solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival and headlining all the major comedy clubs across the country.
The comedy stalwart grew up in London and Oxfordshire where he became interested in drama and music. After a brief spell writing theme tunes, pop songs and jingles, Deering embarked on his comedy career at the beginning of 2000.
His sets began to incorporate his trusty Stratocaster in 2003 and since then he has become a TV regular appearing on shows such as Comedy Rocks (ITV), Sing If You Can (ITV), Celebrity Total Wipeout (BBC 1), The World Comedy Tour (Granada), The World Stands Up and Edinburgh and Beyond (Paramount Comedy Chanel).
With his easy charm, cheesy singing voice, razor-sharp wit and clownish physicality, Rob is sure to impress at this year’s Lighting Design Awards.
