Thorn moves UK headquarters to Spennymoor, County Durham

Spennymoor: 32 staff to transfer to Thorn’s new UK headquarters

It is likely that 32 roles across five customer-facing departments will transfer to Spennymoor, and 11 central marketing positions will relocate to Thorn’s existing studio in central London. Two project management posts will move to parent group offices in Hayes. The company aims to complete this process by end of December 2010.

Paul Coggins, managing director of Thorn Lighting UK & Ireland said: “Only last year we transformed our operation in Spennymoor into the finest manufacturing facility in the UK, complete with the Academy of Light. The transfer of Field Marketing, Project Bid, Quotation and Technical Support teams to our existing Order Processing and Aftersales offices will create one point of contact for our customers. Having these functions in one location alongside design, production and training will vastly improve sales support, internal communications and decision making.”
