Church of St Francis of Assisi, West Midlands

The Grade II-listed Church of St Francis of Assisi in the West Midlands town of Wednesbury has replaced an unflattering fluorescent lighting scheme with state-of-the-art controls from Philips Dynalite. Lightmaster Direct designed a scheme including bespoke dimmable wall uplighters in the nave; low-energy fluorescent fittings in the aisles, narthex, vestries, sacristy and porches; and low-voltage halogen lighting in the altar, lectern and font. The control system has 48 channels, controlled by six Philips Dynalite multipurpose controllers. There are 15 preset lighting scenes for the main church and four for each of the side chapels.
