EnBW headquarters, Germany

As one of the largest energy companies in Germany, it’s no surprise that EnBW’s new headquarters is distinctly energy conscious. Metal halide and fluorescent lamps, are the predominant light sources at EnBW City, and a daylight-related control system cuts down on power. Of course, the concept is not exclusively about energy consumption. A luminous corona at the base of the reception desk creates an eye-catching feature, emphasized by a luminous cloud made from 400 light sources floating above. This blend of high design and sustainability won lighting designers Licht Kunst Licht the GE Edison Award 2009 for the concept.
