Hop to it

Hopscotch was one of more than 40 light art installations created especially for the Vivid Sydney festival of light and music.

Created by Meinhardt Light Art, visitors were able to create their own rainbow at night by playing ‘Hopscotch’ up and down the Moore Stairs at Circular Quay in Sydney.

Each pair of stairs is illuminated with a pre-selected colour mixed LED spotlight from Kilk Systems Australia creating a complete rainbow of light from the top of the stairs to the bottom.

Fiona Venn, senior lighting designer, at Meinhardt said: “The monochromatic light and RGB colour mixing blurs the boundaries between colours as you play with them.”
