Party piece

‘So…I was at a party last night’ was commissioned by the poet Sabrina Mahfouz for her solo show Dry Ice at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London.

Created by Andrea Cuius and Roland Ellis, the piece sees 30 tungsten lamps, supplied by Historic Lighting, suspended above the performer to form a luminous ceiling.

A microphone captures the audio which is then analysed in real time producing the lighting’s illuminated reactions.

The glass of the lamps range from the classic bulb shape to large spheres, cones and tubes.
